IVF Clinic prof. Bider and prof. When is infertility diagnosed?

Infertility is usually defined as the inability to become pregnant within one year, despite regular sex life and lifestyle. In most developed countries, about 15-20% of couples experience some degree of infertility.

The reason why you need to wait a year to confirm the diagnosis of infertility is that during each ovulation cycle the probability of becoming pregnant is 28%. Therefore, 80% of couples are able to conceive a child in a year without any medical intervention. However, since some aspects of the initial evaluation are simple and inexpensive, it makes sense to test your fertility within six months to confirm the diagnosis.

What is in vitro fertilization (IVF)?

The IVF process includes controlled ovarian stimulation, transvaginal oocyte recovery, in vitro fertilization, embryo culture and implantation in the uterus. To date, IVF allows us to solve most infertility problems, as well as prevent genetic diseases.

Donor egg

The preparation of embryos from the donor egg takes place at the IVF clinic in Kiev, Ukraine. This procedure is carried out by the medical staff of the IVF Israel clinic, including a team of senior biologists and technicians from the Israel laboratory, who specifically come to Kiev for this purpose. Our doctors use a unique approach and know-how to transport fresh embryos to Israel (a special incubator developed by the medical staff of the clinic).

This greatly improves the indicators of the IVF procedure, and also reduces the costs of traveling to another country. The new embryo transfer procedure, which is being conducted in Israel, gives excellent results, corresponding to the results of in situ processing procedures! This method of delivering fresh embryos to Israel was recognized and widely imitated abroad. Many Israeli patients who live abroad now come to Israel to take advantage of our experience in this field. The transferring of fresh embryos shows better results than the transferring of frozen embryos.

More about the programs of the donor egg in Israel:

Psychosocial criteria: our local staff attract candidates for egg donation and conduct a thorough investigation into personal and social origins. The median age is 27 years (range 22-33), and all candidates have a proven fertility potential (at least one child).

Women who undergo this stage are additionally assessed for medical indicators and diseases. They are tested for general health by blood tests, family history of the disease, etc. They also undergo STD tests such as HIV and hepatitis. Genetic screening includes karyotyping, Fragile-X tests, SMA and local mutations for CF.

We advise the partner-recipient of the egg to get genetic screening. In case of abnormal signs, we can provide a sample of donor blood for further analysis. Donors can sacrifice their eggs up to 3 times. The mutual anonymity of both donors and recipients is guaranteed for good.

Details of donors include: age, marital status, ethnicity, blood type, height, weight, eye and hair color, level of education and profession. Some donors give us permission to reveal their faces, while remaining anonymous. A donor can be selected from the online catalog.

For egg recipients who are looking for a variant for the birth of additional future children from the same donor’s ovule, we suggest that we consider the allocation of a larger cohort of donor eggs for cryopreservation. Individual women can purchase samples of sperm donors from a sperm bank in Kiev or provide their donor from another sperm bank. The sperm donors that we provide in Kiev are tested for more than 40 of the most common abnormal genetic traits. This increases the safety of treatment.

Surrogacy

Our doctors and the staff of the clinic perform surrogacy procedure in the IVF department at the ISIDA hospital in Kiev, according to the license of the Ministry of Health of Israel and Ukraine. Women who have undergone a hysterectomy or whose uterine cavity was damaged, as a result of infection or surgical procedures, can use the services of a surrogate woman.

Surrogacy can be offered in cases where a woman can not become pregnant due to a different medical reasons – for example, when a pregnancy threatens her health (due to heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, etc.), and in cases of repeated miscarriage, if the treatment did not solve the problem.

What is preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)?

This method was first introduced in Israel by members of the team prof. Bider and prof. Levron in 1995. In the course of this method, parts of the embryo fusion stage are biopsied, the DNA content in the cells of which is then analyzed in a genetic laboratory. Tests can be used to diagnose various genetic mutations, chromosome rearrangements, aneuploidy and gender.

Family and gender balancing

A gender balance can only be offered to a family with at least two children of the same sex. Some of our tests are performed on a one-day basis, and more complex tests require cryopreservation of embryos after a biopsy to provide sufficient time for the completion of an analysis of interdisciplinary therapies such as stem cell therapy.

ICSI / IMSI / PICSI (ICSI / IMSI / PICSI)

The methods of micromanipulation were applied for the first time in Israel by members of our team in 1989. Professor Levron and Professor Bider shared their extensive experience, consulting with various centers in the US, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Choosing the right sperm for ICSI by increasing the high order (IMSI) and choosing competent spermatozoa that join the egg molecules (PIKSI), are the best way to ensure the success of your ART therapy.
